Adobe Introduces AI Assistant for Acrobat PDF Now Offering Image Generation and Editing

AI can provide valuable features for document creation and editing, and now Adobe PDF users can take advantage of AI directly within a document. Adobe has announced the addition of a new feature called Acrobat AI Assistant, which enables users to generate and edit images using AI within a PDF document. This feature can also extract data from multiple document sources for deeper insights and even help in creating draft content.

The image generation and editing functionality is powered by Adobe's Firefly Image 3 Model, making it the first PDF application to offer generative image capabilities. Adobe highlights that its AI has a better understanding of prompts, providing new levels of detail and variety. With the Acrobat AI Assistant, users can create images to enhance their documents or improve the visual appeal of the document background.

The Acrobat AI Assistant also enables users to edit existing images within a document, offering features such as generative fill, background removal, cropping, and object erasure.

This update allows users to consolidate data from various documents in different formats to extract key themes, trends, and relationships for deeper insights. Supported document types include PDF, Word, and PowerPoint, and any insights generated can be manipulated with Acrobat AI Assistant to create content like emails or reports.

Additionally, this update enhances meeting transcripts by offering the ability to generate summaries of key points and action items.

Adobe has also teamed up with TikTok to integrate TikTok's commercial music library into Adobe Express, providing access to over a million top and trending songs. This integration makes it easier for creators to produce TikTok content, including adding musical elements directly from Adobe Express.

The Adobe AI Assistant in Adobe Acrobat will be available starting June 18, with free access to the Acrobat AI Assistant until June 28. Subsequently, a $4.99 per month subscription will be required to access these features, which includes 250 generative credits per month. The Adobe/TikTok Commercial Music Library integration will be available from June 17 onwards.
