Easily customize messages, manage home devices with Google Home integration, and unlock additional features
Google Announces New Features for Android
Google has announced seven new features for its Android mobile operating system. One of the new features includes the ability to edit messages after they have been sent. Users will now be able to edit their RCS messages within 15 minutes of sending them. This can be useful for fixing mistakes or making changes to messages sent in the heat of the moment.
Another upcoming feature is Instant Hotspot, which will allow users to easily connect their Android tablet or Chromebook to their phone's hotspot with a single tap, without needing to enter a password. Additionally, users will be able to switch devices during a Google Meet call.
Google Home Favorites widget can now be added to the main screen of Android phones, allowing users to control their Google Home gadgets directly from the home screen. This includes managing and controlling smart devices without having to open the Google Home app. The widget is available in the Public Preview of Android, along with a new Wear OS complication and tile for the same purpose.
For Wear OS users, Google Wallet now offers more ways to pay, with PayPal integration coming soon. Users will be able to make payments using their smartwatch, eliminating the need to pull out their phone at checkout.
Additionally, digital car keys are now available for select MINI models, with support for Mercedes-Benz and Polestar cars coming soon. Users can unlock and start their car using their phone, and easily share keys with friends and family.
Lastly, Emoji Kitchen sticker combos are set to roll out soon, offering fun remixes like disco ball and headphones. These new stickers can be shared with friends using Gboard.
